26 March: SoulKino: film and discussion on feminism

B-Lage, Mareschstraße 1 (S-Bahn Sonnenallee)

SoulKino comes back with a powerful feminist session. For this occasion we have chosen the cult movie ‘Born in Flames’. A documentary-style feminist science fiction film by Lizzie Borden that explores racism, classism, sexism and heterosexism in an alternative United States socialist democracy. (Read more). The movie will be screened in English with German subtitles.

In addition the event includes ‘Bad Lesbian’ premiere. Irene Moray’s short film. A comedy about a desperate girl seeking for love in Berlin’s nightlife. (Read more).

We are also glad to share the performance of our guest artist Andrea, who will delight us with some of her musical pieces from his current project Bodyverse.

We will mix the audovisual concept from the north with a culinary ingredient from the South. SoulKino’s friend Radamés (Estrella de Cuba’s activist) will offer caribbean empanadas and croquettes at popular prices.

(Despite the free entrance a solidarity contribution would be welcome.
Because of an respectful attitude towards the artists and culture and the space limitations it will be helpful for everybody to arrive on time.)
