support the left election campaign: video action on Saturday (or send us your own videos)

Do you want to help a left election campaign in Germany, but are not allowed to vote? Here‘s something that you can do.

Judith Benda, speaker of die LINKE Berlin Internationals is the direct candidate in Neukölln and is collecting video messages of support from internationals.

Here‘s what you can do:

EITHER

  • make a short film (1-2 minutes) of yourself in your own language, saying why we need a strong international left. It doesn‘t have to be top quality – a film made on a mobile phone is fine
  • send the film to lag.internationals@die-linke-berlin.de
  • send us a brief translation (German is best, but English is also ok) of what you said, so we can organise subtitles

OR

  • Come to the LINKE offices in Neukölln (Wipperstraße 6, near S- and U-Bahn Neukölln) between 4pm and 5pm this Saturday, 2 September, and we‘ll film you.
  • Sign up to the facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/events/183189462224236 and invite your friends

On Saturday, like every Saturday up to the election, die LINKE Neukölln have a day of action starting at 10am in the offices in Wipperstraße . Please come along and help. Some of us will also be at the demo for Scottish independence and will go to the video session afterwards

Die LINKE Internationals in September

Hello everyone, especially new people on the list

Here‘s a little info about what‘s happening in September. First the 2 demos on September 16th that we mentioned at this week‘s meeting:  the demo against the anti-abortion bigots of „March for Life“ starts at Brandenburger Tor at midday and the CommUNITY carnival has a planning meeting this week-end on Saturday at 1pm at Mehringhof where it will discuss its full agenda. Please go along to support them. We‘ll send the most important information to come out of the meeting.

On Saturday there‘s also the demo for Scottish independence that I mentioned at the meeting. It starts at the British embassy near Brandenburger Tor at 11.00 and you can find more information here. Tommy Sheridan will be speaking, as will our Ferran. If you‘re coming and would like to carry one of our flags, please contact us so that we know how many we should bring.

After the demo we‘ll be going to Neukölln to make some videos for Judith‘s election campaign. Judith will be sending a message about this tomorrow, but save the date.

Finally (for the time being) we have an informal meeting next Monday (4 September) to discuss our meeting in Brandenburg last week, and the lessons for organising our group. It will be at 8pm in Richter‘s pub Tschaikowskistraße 30  (Straßenbahn M1 Tschaikowskistr ). Everyone‘s invited to come along

One last thing. We are in the stages of planning our not-Christmas party. This will almost certainly be on a Friday or Saturday night in December (at a push late November). If you know of any dates that we should NOT use, please contact us.

Hope to see you soon

Phil
