Here is an invitation to various events organised and supported by DIE LINKE Berlin LAG Internationals in early 2016:
On Sunday, 10 January, the European Left has its annual start of year festival in the Kosmos Berlin on Karl-Marx Allee. Speakers include Sahra Wagenknecht, Oskar Lafontaine, Maite Mola and Moshe Zuckermann. Music includes Esther Bejarano & Microphone Mafia, Bandista und Lucia Socam.
We have booked a block of tickets so that we can sit together. If you want one of these tickets, please contact us at lag.internationals[at]die-linke-berlin.de
From January, our meetings will be on the fourth January of each month. At the first meeting, on January 26th, Claudia Haydt from the Informationsstelle Militarisierung and the leadership of the European Left Party will speak on “Organising to stop the war on Syria”. The meeting will be at 7pm in Karl Liebknecht Haus on Rosa Luxemburg Platz (we are waiting to confirm the room).
For future meetings, we have confirmations from Fabio de Masi MEP who will be speaking on Plan B, which he is developing with Oskar Lafontaine, Yannis Varoufakis and others, and from Sebastian Friedrich, author of a recent book on Alternative für Deutschland. We will send more information about these meetings to our mailing list. If you are not yet on our mailing list, please send us a mail.
In middle January (probably Friday 22th) we are organising a public meeting on the importance of the Spanish and Portuguese elections for the left in Europe. Speakers will be from Podemos, Izquierda Unida and the Portuguese left. We hope to be able to announce the date, venue and a full list of speakers soon.
If you want to get more involved with the group, we also have a monthly organising meeting. This meeting will now take place on the second Thursday of each month. The first meeting on 2016 will be on 14th January in Karl Liebknecht Haus.
